
Broncos Make It Five Straight with Win Over Montana

Boise State’s men’s tennis team takes down Montana 4-3 in Spokane, Wash.
SPOKANE, Wash. – The Broncos add another one to the win column after a 4-3 victory over Montana Saturday afternoon at Gonzaga. Boise State clinched today's match at 4-1 on four-straight singles victories before playing the rest of the matches out.
The victory puts the team at 5-1 overall and winners of five straight.
In doubles action the Broncos No. 1 tandem of Blake Bayldon and Simon Arca Costas handled business and took down Montana's Ed Pudney and Oisin Shaffrey 6-3. With the victory Bayldon and Arca Costas moved to 11-1 overall on the year. The duo hasn't lost since Jan. 18th at No. 5 Baylor.
The Broncos came up short in the final two doubles matches. Kyryll Kryvchun and Kemal Karagozoglu were taken down by Ludvig Hallgren and Max Korkh by a 7-6 score.
Mark Papadopoulos and Michael Bott fell to Milo Benn and Pontus Hallgren 7-6. This is only the second loss on the year for the pair putting their overall record at 4-2.
In singles the Blue and Orange saw Kryvchun continue to dominate at the No. 1 position taking a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Montana's Korkh, the junior moved to 19-5 on the year.
Boise State's Arca Costas and Wyatt DeMulling both came out on top in their matches. Arca Costas defeated Ludvig. Hallgren 6-3 and 7-6(5) on court two, while DeMulling beat Pudney 6-2 6-4 at the No. 3 slot. Arca Costas improved to 12-6 overall and DeMulling to 13-4.
Papadopoulos continues to find his stride as he came out on top against Benn 6-4, 6-3, he is now 5-1 overall.
Bayldon and Bott both suffered losses today. Bayldon fell 3-6, 6-3, 3-6 to Shaffrey, while Bott fell 5-7, 6-4, 7-10 to Pontus Hallgren.
The Broncos will look to make it six straight wins tomorrow afternoon at noon against Gonzaga.
