WHAT IS HAPPENING

  • Boise State's men's tennis team will be road tripping to Stockton and San Francisco for a pair of matches against Pacific on Saturday and San Francisco on Sunday.
  • The Broncos are 12-2 all-time versus Pacific and 8-0 all-time against San Francisco.
LAST TIME OUT 
  • Last weekend (Feb 8-9) Boise State traveled to Spokane, Wash., and went 1-1 with a loss to Gonzaga and a win over Montana.
  • Boise State held a 3-2 advantage in the match against Gonzaga. The Bulldogs rallied by winning the final two singles contests of the day to claim the team victory. 
  • Broncos top doubles duo of Blake Bayldon and Simon Arca Costas continue to shine going 2-0 on the weekend.
WHO TO WATCH IN SINGLES
  • Kyryll Kryvchun who has held the number one position all year for the Broncos and owns the best overall record of 19-6.
  • Mark Papadopoulos with a 6-1 overall record in singles he has won five straight matches. The redshirt-sophomore has not lost a singles match since Jan. 18th at No. 5 Baylor.
  • Other notables are Blake Bayldon at 13-7 and Wyatt DeMulling at 13-5.
WHO TO WATCH IN DOUBLES
  • No. 1 duo of Bayldon and Arca Costas are winners of six straight. The pair's overall record is now 12-1.
 COACH WIDEN
  • Kristian Widen is in his second year as head coach of his alma mater. The former Bronco tennis player and 1996 Boise State graduate was named head men's tennis coach on May 17, 2018.
  • He begins his second season with an 16-12 overall record.  
  • He has been a part of seven conference championships at Boise State, three as a player and four as an assistant.
  • Widen has more than 20 years of coaching experience at various levels, including time previously spent on staff at Boise State with both the men's and women's programs.
