WHAT IS HAPPENING
  • Boise State's men's tennis will be hosting two matches this weekend against Louisiana on Saturday and San Diego State on Sunday in the Mountain West Conference opener.
  • As a program the Broncos are 1-1 versus Louisiana with their last meeting in 2006
  • Boise State is 10-9 all-time against San Diego State.  
LAST TIME OUT
  • Last weekend (Feb. 15-16) Boise State hit the road to northern California where it went 1-1 with a win at Pacific 6-1 and a loss to San Francisco 4-0.
  • Boise State took down Pacific in Stockton, Calif., by taking the doubles point 2-0, then claimed the first three singles matches with wins by Mark Papadopoulos, Simon Arca Costas and Wyatt DeMulling to clinch the victory. 
  • The Blue and Orange fell 4-0 to San Francisco after dropping the doubles point 2-0, then came up on the short end of the first three singles matches completed.
WHO TO WATCH IN SINGLES
  • Kyryll Kryvchun the Broncos No. 1 holds a team best 21-6 overall record.
  • Arca Costas is next at 14-8 and DeMulling at 14-7.
WHO TO WATCH IN DOUBLES
  • The Broncos No. 1 tandem of Blake Bayldon and Arca Costas is ranked 56th-nationally and hold a team best 12-2 record on the year.
  • Michael Bott and Papadopoulos who have been playing at the No. 2 position for Boise State.
 COACH WIDEN
  • Kristian Widen is in his second year as head coach of his alma mater. The former Bronco tennis player and 1996 Boise State graduate was named head men's tennis coach on May 17, 2018.
  • He begins his second season with an 17-13 overall record.  
  • He has been a part of seven conference championships at Boise State, three as a player and four as an assistant.
  • Widen has more than 20 years of coaching experience at various levels, including time previously spent on staff at Boise State with both the men's and women's programs.
