SAN DIEGO – Boise State women's soccer fell to San Diego State 2-0 in Friday night's Mountain West matchup at the SDSU Sports Deck.
The Broncos looked to be the better offensive side in the beginning of the match, but in the 19th minute the Aztecs flooded the box on a counter attack and scored to take the early lead. In the 30th minute the Aztecs tacked on another goal, extending the lead before halftime.
The second half saw several Boise State corners, including one that created an excellent scoring chance for Abby Bivens, but her header was saved by the San Diego State keeper to keep the Broncos off of the board.
Shots favored the Aztecs as they generated 14 including six on frame. Boise State put up 11 shots and three on goal in addition to earning four corners to San Diego State's zero.
Up next Boise State heads to Albuquerque, N.M., to take on reigning MW champion New Mexico Sunday at 1 p.m.
