WHAT IS HAPPENING: Boise State will take its 12-2 record (1-1 MW) on the road this weekend for two Mountain West Conference matches when they travel to face the Nevada Wolf Pack (5-7, 1-1 MW) at 1 p.m. (Mountain) on Friday in Reno, Nev., followed by a trip to Fresno, Calif., to take on the 12-3 (1-1 MW) Fresno State Bulldogs at 11 a.m. (MT) on Sunday.

THE SERIES: The Wolf Pack are the oldest rivals for Boise State among current MW members as the series enters its 37th encounter since 1987 with the Broncos leading 25-11, but Nevada has won three straight in the series. The Bulldogs series enters its 35th and last scheduled meeting between the two schools as Fresno State will discontinue the program after this season. The Bulldogs currently lead the all-time series – which dates back to 1993 – by a 21-13 margin.

THE BRONCO CONNECTION: Fresno State is currently coached by Boise State legend Luke Shields who is in his sixth season in charge of the Bulldogs where he has a career and school record of 85-63.

ABOUT THE BRONCOS

LAST TIME OUT: Boise State was on the road at Las Vegas last weekend for its lone match of the week where they fell 4-0 at the hands of the UNLV Rebels, snapping the Broncos' 10-match win streak.

SOLID DOUBLES: Boise State has been strong in doubles this year, and a big reason for that is the tandem of Luka Soskic and Lukas Ridemar. The pair is 5-1 on the season, splitting time between the No. 2 and 3 positions. Overall, the Broncos have gone 24-11 in doubles matches winning 69 percent of the contests.

SINGLES STREAKING: All nine Broncos have winning records in singles with two of them – Wyatt DeMulling and Lawrence Sciglitano – owning active six-match win streaks of six. The team as a whole, has dominated singles all season long going 56-16 (.778) across all matches.

LAWRENCE SCIGLITANO: Sciglitano has won six straight in singles splitting time between the No. 4 thru 6 positions and is currently 8-1 overall. The redshirt-sophomore has the most wins at the No. 6 position for the Broncos this season with four.

WYATT DEMULLING: DeMulling was a 2020 All-MW singles honoree. This year he has gone 8-1 in singles playing primarily the three through five positions, he has an active six-match win streak going. DeMulling currently has a team-high 59 career wins in singles, 10 short of the program's top-20 list for career victories.

SIMON ARCA COSTAS: This year the redshirt-sophomore is a team-best 9-1 in singles having split his time between the No. 1 through 4 positions. The Spaniard won 20 singles matches last year and now has 49 career singles victories in the blue and orange.

BLAKE BAYLDON: Bayldon was named Mountain West Men's Tennis Player of the Week on March 24 after his performances against Weber State and Montana State going a combined 4-0 on the weekend. The Australian native is currently 7-2 overall splitting time between the top three courts, including 4-1 at No. 1 singles.

BAYLDON & ARCA COSTAS: Bayldon and Arca Costas received All-MW Doubles honors after compiling a 14-2 record last year, including a 7-2 record while playing at the No. 1 position during dual competitions. This year the tandem has gone 6-2 with all eight matches on court one.

MW PLAYERS OF THE WEEK: Boise State has had five Mountain West Conference Men's Tennis Players of the Week so far this season with Kyryll Kryvchun earning it on Jan. 27, Luka Soskic on Feb. 24, Simon Arca Costas on March 10 and 17, as well as Blake Bayldon on March 24.

THE MAN IN CHARGE: Kristian Widen is in his third year in charge of the men's program at Boise State where he has recorded back-to-back winning seasons, his record currently stands at 30-18. Widen has been a part of seven conference championships at Boise State, three as a player and four as an assistant coach.
