BOISE, Idaho – Kristian Widen has resigned from his position as Boise State men's tennis head coach, director of athletics Jeramiah Dickey announced Tuesday.

A national search for a new men's tennis head coach will begin immediately.

"Kristian made many contributions as a Bronco through the years, and we wish him the very best in his future endeavors," Dickey said. "I am confident we will have a strong pool of candidates to lead our program forward.

"I have asked Beck Roghaar, our director of tennis, to assume the role of men's tennis head coach and associate women's tennis head coach Maria Lopez will lead the Broncos' women's program in the interim."

Widen was named men's tennis head coach in May 2018, after serving as the women's tennis assistant coach since January 2015.

Widen was a four-year letterwinner for the Broncos, and the three-year team captain graduated in 1996.
