
Broncos Fall to No. 24 Memphis

TEMPE, Arizona – Boise State men's tennis opened the Diablos Tennis Tournament with a 4-1 defeat at the hands of 24th-ranked Memphis Friday afternoon at Kiwanis Park in Tempe, Ariz. The loss moved Boise State to 7-4 overall, while Memphis improved to 7-2.

John Chin and Caden Moortgat led the Broncos in doubles with a 6-4 victory at the No. 2 position. However, the Tigers claimed the team point with wins on courts one and two.

Down 3-0, Boise State fifth-year senior Simon Arca Costas recorded a straight-set victory at No. 2 singles defeating Memphis' David Stevenson 6-4, 6-4 to make the team score 3-1 Tigers.

Memphis went on to win the team competition 4-1. Sam Sippel and Moortgat were in the third set when the remaining singles matches were abandoned.
