Freshman Idriss Haddouch clinches the championship for Boise State.

LAS VEGAS – Idriss Haddouch's three-set victory at No. 6 singles clinched Boise State the 2023 Mountain West Championship 4-2 over Utah State on Friday night in Las Vegas.

Haddouch defeated the Aggies' Nuno Pinheiro 7-6(5), 3-6, 6-4 to hand the Broncos their fifth MW tournament title and the program's 17th overall.

In doubles, the Broncos recorded a lone victory by Sam Sippel and Jan Lucca Marquardt 6-2 on court three, while the Aggies won at No. 1 and 2 doubles to claim the team point.

Down one, Boise State needed to win four of the six singles matches to win the title. The Broncos split the six opening sets in singles with four of the contests eventually going to third sets.

The Broncos earned wins by John Chin 7-6(2), 6-2 on court five and Caden Moortgat at No. 3 singles as he rallied from a set down for a 1-6, 6-2, 6-3 victory to tie the team score at 2-2.

The Blue and Orange took its first lead of the night at 3-2 when Simon Arca Costas came back from a set one defeat to take No. 1 singles in three 2-6, 7-5, 6-3, keeping his winning streak alive at 24.

That set up Haddouch's match-clinching victory.
