Boise State Opens Diablos College Invitational with Sweep Over UTSA

TEMPE, Ariz.Carson Baker's straight-set victory at No. 2 singles clinched the match for 29th-ranked Boise State as the Broncos opened the Diablos College Invitational with a 4-0 sweep over UTSA on Friday afternoon in Tempe, Arizona.
 
Boise State opened the contest by claiming the team doubles point 2-0. The Blue and Orange recorded wins by Baker and Jett Middleton 6-1 at No. 1 doubles, followed by a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles by Taiyo Kurata and Julius Seifert.
 
The Broncos put the match away with three quick singles victories to complete the sweep. The first win came on court four, where James Van Herzeele won his match 6-4, 6-1. The second victory was at No. 5 singles, where Idriss Haddouch put away his opponent in straight sets 6-4, 6-1, moving Boise State within one of clinching.
 
The decisive singles contest was Baker's on court two, where he beat UTSA's Danijal Muminovic in two sets, 6-4, 6-4, to clinch the team victory.
