Cross Country Splits to Wisconsin, Oregon

BOISE, Idaho – The Boise State cross country team will split for the first time this season, with one group of runners heading to the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational (Sept. 28), and another heading to the Charles Bowles Invitational (Sept. 29).

LOGISTICS: The Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational will be held at the Zimmer Championship Course in Madison, Wisc. This will be the first of two previews of the national championship course the Broncos will get this season.

Women's 6-kilometer- 11:20 a.m. (MT)
Men's 8-kilometer- Noon (MT)

A second contingent of runners will travel to Salem, Ore. for the Charles Bowles Invitational, hosted by Willamette. The race will be held at Bush's Pasture Park.

Men's 8-kilometer- 10:30 a.m. (MT)
Women's 6-kilometer- 11:20 a.m. (MT)

Results will be available following each race of the Charles Bowles Invitational.

IN THE RANKINGS: Boise State continues to be represented in the USTFCCCA Coaches' Poll, with both team's being ranked in the top 30 during the month of September. The women check in at fifth in the latest poll, while the men are ranked 26th.

HIGHLY-RANKED FIELD: The Broncos will find stiff competition in Wisconsin, as many teams attempt to get a look at the national championship course. On the women's side, No. 5 Boise State will be joined by six other top 10 teams in No. 1 New Mexico, No. 2 Colorado, No. 6 NC State, No. 7 Wisconsin, No. 8 Villanova and No. 9 Arkansas.

In the men's race, No. 26 Boise State will be one of 19 teams ranked in the top 30 in the coaches' poll.
