BRONCOS HOST TIGERS, PIONEERS, AND ROADRUNNERS

The Boise State men's tennis team has a busy week ahead as they host three different home matches starting with Pacific on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Boas Indoor Tennis Center. The Broncos will follow that against Denver on Thursday at 1:30 p.m., and ending the weekend against Texas-San Antonio (UTSA) on Saturday at 10 a.m. Thursday and Saturday's matches will be held at the Appleton Tennis Center in Boise, weather permitting.

LAST TIME OUT

The Broncos hosted two back to back matches last weekend. The team fell 4-0 to the 22nd-ranked BYU Cougars Saturday afternoon. The Cougars took the lead early on with the doubles point after defeating Boise State 2-0. The Broncos fought hard in six singles matches, but fell with three matches unfinished in third sets. Sophomore Luka Soskic played at No. 1 singles for the first time at Boise State.

The Blue and Orange made a great comeback on Saturday defeating instate-rival Idaho 4-1. The Broncos gained a running start taking the doubles point 2-1. Singles matches went the way of the Blue and Orange as well with Simon Arca Costas getting the first of three Boise State victories at No. 4 singles winning in straight sets 6-3, 6-2 over Guilherme Scarpelli. Sophomore Stefan Lalovic moved the Broncos one step closer to victory after defeating Bruno Casino 7-5, 6-2.

Junior Wyatt DeMulling's singles victory on court five gave the Broncos the 4-1 win over Idaho. He took the opening set 6-4 after trailing 3-0. He found himself behind in the second set only to rally from 4-3 down to force it into a tiebreaker. DeMulling took the tiebreaker to claim the match for the Broncos defeating Idaho's Lucas Coutinho 6-4, 7-6(5).

STANDOUT

Freshman Arca Costas impressed last weekend after earning his third-straight singles victory and improved to 18-8 overall and 7-1 in spring duals.
