BOISE, Idaho - The Boise State men's tennis team is off to the Beehive State this weekend as they travel to Salt Lake City to face the Utah Utes at 12 p.m. (MT) on Saturday. The Broncos enter the week at 2-0 while Utah comes in at 6-2.

THE SERIES: This will be the 55th meeting all-time between the two programs with the Broncos holding a 33-21 advantage in the series. This is the first encounter since the spring of 2018, the Utes have won the last three contests with the Broncos.

ABOUT THE BRONCOS

LAST TIME OUT: Boise State opened the season the weekend of Jan. 22-24 collecting a pair of victories over Montana (6-1) and Grand Canyon (7-0). Kyryll Kryvchun led the blue and orange going 3-1 over the homestand while playing No. 1 singles and No. 3 doubles. Simon Arca Costas and Blake Bayldon both went 3-0 winning one doubles match as teammates, as well as their singles contests. Wyatt DeMulling and Lawrence Sciglitano both swept their singles matches going 2-0 each.

CANCELED WEEKEND: The Broncos had their scheduled contests last weekend at UCLA, USC and Loyola Marymount canceled due to COVID-19 protocols by several teams.

CURRENT STREAKS: Wyatt DeMulling is looking for his sixth-consecutive singles victory dating back to last spring. Simon Arca Costas is looking for his fifth-straight singles win, also dating back to spring 2020.

KRYVCHUN NAMED MW PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Boise State redshirt-junior Kyryll Kryvchun was named the Mountain West Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week on Jan. 27 following the opening weekend wins over Montana and Grand Canyon where he went 3-1 overall, including 2-0 at No. 1 singles.

KYRYLL KRYVCHUN: The 2020 All-MW honoree has gone 2-0 at No. 1 singles and 1-1 at No. 3 doubles this spring. He currently has 24 career singles victories, 10-4 on court one. The redshirt-junior has also tallied a 15-9 doubles record at Boise State.

WYATT DEMULLING: DeMulling was also a 2020 All-MW singles honoree. This year he has gone 2-0 in singles playing the five. The native of Seattle has a five-match win streak going dating back to spring 2020 and has a team-high 53 career wins in singles, 16 short of the program's top-20 list for career victories.

SIMON ARCA COSTAS: This year the redshirt-sophomore is undefeated in singles going 2-0 at the fourth position and has won four straight stretching back to 2020. The Spaniard won 20 singles matches last year and now has 42 career singles victories in the blue and orange.

BAYLDON & ARCA COSTAS: Bayldon and Arca Costas received All-MW Doubles honors after compiling a 14-2 record last year, including a 7-2 record while playing at the No. 1 position during dual competitions. This year the tandem has gone 1-0 at No. 1 doubles.

DEBUTS FOR THE BRONCOS: All three of Boise State's newcomers debuted for the blue and orange during the opening weekend against Montana and Grand Canyon. Lawrence Sciglitano went 2-0 at No. 6 singles, while Lukas Ridemar and Caden Moortgat teamed up to go 2-0 in doubles.

THE MAN IN CHARGE: Kristian Widen is in his third year in charge of the men's program at Boise State where he has recorded back-to-back winning seasons, his record currently stands at 20-16. Widen has been a part of seven conference championships at Boise State, three as a player and four as an assistant coach.
