Boise State Opens Thursday with 4-2 Win Over Idaho State

BOISE, Idaho – Ryo Minakata's 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 6 singles clinched the Boise State victory as the Broncos rallied to defeat the Idaho State Bengals 4-2 Thursday morning at the Boas Indoor Tennis Center in Boise.

It was the first of two contests scheduled for the Blue and Orange on Thursday as the 59th-ranked Broncos improved to 10-4 overall with the win.

Boise State entered the singles competition trailing 1-0, following ISU winning the team doubles point 2-1.

James Van Herzeele drew Boise State even when he rolled to a straight-set victory 6-2, 6-0 at the No. 3 singles position.

Simon Arca Costas gave the Broncos a 2-1 advantage when he won in two sets 6-3, 6-2 on court two.

After the Bengals tied it up at 2-2, Caden Moortgat put the Blue and Orange back in front with a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 4 singles to set up Minakata's match-clinching victory on court six.

Boise State is on a 3-0 wins streak and remains undefeated at home, moving to 5-0.
Arca Costas recorded his 21st singles victory of the season and the 92nd of his career to claim sole possession of 10th-place all-time at Boise State.
