Cross Carries Broncos Past Eagles

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State forward Carly Cross scored three goals in the Broncos' 4-3 victory against Eastern Washington Thursday evening at Boas Soccer Complex.

Cross came in hot, knocking in a cross from Morgan Padour in the match's first five minutes. Less than five minutes later, the junior found the back of the net again off an assist from Kenzie MacMillan inside the penalty box. The Broncos extended their lead to 3-0 in the 21st minute when a cross from MacMillan found the foot of Padour.

The Eagles (1-5-0) cut the lead to 3-1 as Maddie Morgan scored from close range to end the first half.

Eastern Washington opened the second half with a quick goal just outside the penalty box. Moments later, Cross responded with a shot from deep range to give the Broncos a 4-2 lead.

Despite the Eagles converting a penalty in the final seconds, the Broncos were able to walk away with the victory.
