Two-Match Homestand Begins Friday with New Mexico

The Boise State men's tennis team (10-5, 0-2 MW) will host both New Mexico and Air Force this weekend

MEN'S TENNIS HOST LOBOS AND AIR FORCE
The Boise State men's tennis team  will host a pair of Mountain West opponents this weekend. The weekend will open, Friday, against the New Mexico Lobos at 1 p.m. MT. On Sunday the Broncos will host Air Force at 11 a.m. All matches will be held at the Appleton Tennis Center in Boise, Idaho, barring weather.
LAST TIME OUT
The Broncos return home after a busy weekend on the road. The team kicked the weekend off strong after rallying past Montana, 4-2 on Thursday in Las Vegas, Nev. The Blue and Orange dropped the doubles point 2-0 but made a quick comeback in singles matches. Stefan Lalovic gained the team win when he put away the Grizzlies' Pontus Hallgren 4-6, 6-4, 6-2.

Boise State fell in a 4-3 heartbreaker against UNLV. Wyatt DeMulling gave the Broncos a 3-2 advantage with his straight-set win on court six (6-2, 6-4) over Milos Dabic. Unfortunately, the Broncos were unable to gain a win after Jack Heslin fell in three sets to Eric Samuelsson to clinch it for the Rebels.

The Broncos couldn't bounce back against San Diego State on Sunday afternoon, falling to the Aztecs 4-0.

STANDOUTS
Freshman Simon Arca Costas was the first Bronco this season to record 21 singles victories, and is 21-9 overall. Fellow freshman Simon Stenlund has been just as impressive, going 16-6 overall and 4-2 in duals, while junior Wyatt DeMulling comes in with a 18-8 mark on the year.

AS A TEAM
The Broncos currently have an overall record of 10-5, with a 96-52 mark in singles (.649) on the year. In doubles matches, the Broncos are 28-29 (.491) on the year, but are 16-14 (.533) in duals.
HEAD COACH KRISTIAN WIDEN
A former Boise State graduate and former all-conference performer, Kristian Widen is in his first season as the head coach for the Broncos. Widen's coaching record now stands at 10-5.
BRONCOS KEEP ROLLING ON
The Broncos have already matched their win total from last season and are one win away from recording their most victories since the 2015-16 campaign (20-10). Boise State has made a noticeable improvement since the season began when they were ranked No. 184. They have since moved up 101 positions to No. 83.Â
