WACO, Texas  - Boise State men's tennis fell 7-0 in its season opener Saturday afternoon at fifth-ranked Baylor. The Broncos were led by senior Wyatt DeMulling who faced 19th-ranked Sven Lah taking him to three sets before falling. In the end, Boise State was unable to get a win versus the experienced Bears as they fell to 0-1 overall on the young season.

Doubles went to Baylor 3-0 as the Bears claimed all three matches. Both the No. 1 and 2 matches were 6-3 scores with Boise State's 50th-ranked tandem of Blake Bayldon and Simon Arca Costas falling on court one to the 20th-ranked team from Baylor, Lah and Constantin Frantzen. The Boise State duo is now 6-1 overall.

The No. 2 doubles team saw the debut of two Broncos seeing their first action in the blue and orange. Mark Papadopoulos and Michael Bott took on Baylor's 25th-ranked duo of Matias Soto and Ryan Dickerson falling 6-3.

In singles, DeMulling led the way for Boise State on court three. The senior opened with a set one victory before his opponent Lah rallied for a victory. Unfortunately, DeMulling came up short in a tightly contested third set eventually falling 3-6, 6-0, 7-5. The Bronco is now 8-4 as a senior.

Playing at No. 1 for Boise State was Kyryll Kryvchun who took on 59th-ranked Matias Soto, falling in two 6-3, 6-1. Kryvchun is a team-best 14-5 overall this year.

On court two was Bayldon where he also faced a nationally ranked opponent in No. 70 Adrian Boitan. The Bear had the upper hand in set one before Bayldon came back and battled hard in set two before falling in straight sets 6-1, 7-5.

Boise State will return to Boise this coming week when they host a four-match homestand at the Eagle Tennis Club. They will take on Montana State and Seattle U on Friday, then host both Idaho State and Whitman on Sunday. Next weekend will feature for the first time ever both the women's and men's teams playing simultaneously on 12 courts against Seattle U on Friday and Idaho State on Sunday.
