Broncos Set to Compete at Two Races

BOISE, Idaho – The Boise State cross country teams travel to Madison, Wis., for the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational hosted by Wisconsin, Oct. 15. The men's field features 18 nationally-ranked programs, while the women's field boasts 19, including top-ranked NC State.

Other members of the Broncos' cross country teams will travel to Lewiston, Idaho for the Inland Empire Championships hosted by Lewis-Clark State College (LCSC), Oct. 16.

NUTTYCOMBE LOGISTICS: The Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational will be held at the Thomas Zimmerman Championship Cross Country Course.

Located adjacent to University Ridge Golf Course, the course features an exterior loop of approximately 2,500 meters and an interior loop of 1,000 meters. Both loops cover the area's rolling hills and valleys, while the outside loop also runs through a section of dense woods, which are aflame with color in the fall.

This year's meet will consist of two races per gender. Teams are allowed to run only seven athletes in the championship races and an unlimited number of athletes in the "B" races. Coaches can race any seven of the submitted entries in the featured races and do not have to declare those seven athletes prior to the start of the race.

  • Women's Championship Race (6k) – 11:20 a.m. MT
  • Men's Championship Race (8k) – Noon MT
INLAND EMPIRE LOGISTICS: The Inland Empire Championships will be held at the LCSC Cross Country Course.

LAST TIME OUT: Boise State men's cross country garnered a fifth-place finish and the woman secured seventh at the Bill Dellinger Invitational.

The men were paced by freshman Ahmed Ibrahim who finished sixth and was later named both the Mountain West Athlete and Freshman of the Week for his performance.

On the women's side, junior Tyler Beling and senior Olivia Johnson were the first two Broncos across the finish line for a second-straight race.
