Ohlinger led Boise State with a team-high 15 kills against the Spartans.

BOISE, Idaho - Lauren Ohlinger led Boise State with 15 kills, but that was not enough as the Broncos were edged in five sets 28-26, 15-25, 7-25, 25-21, 15-13 by San Jose State in a Mountain West volleyball match in Bronco Gym. Boise State rallied from a set down to take a 2-1 match lead after hitting .433 percent in the second set and .571 percent in the third. Unfortunately, the Broncos went cold in the last two sets as the Spartans rallied to win the final two periods to take the match 3-2.

The loss moved Boise State to 12-3 overall and 1-2 in conference play, while San Jose State improved to 9-4 and 3-0 in league. Next up, the Broncos host Nevada at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Boise State ended the match hitting better than San Jose State .206 percent to .095 percent, but the match was ugly in the final two sets as the Broncos struggled to hit the ball. The Spartans ended the contest tallying 53 kills on 52 assists with four service aces, 78 digs and four blocks. Boise State countered with 52 kills on 49 assists to go with eight service aces, 69 digs and a season-high 18 blocks, tied for the third most during the rally scoring era (2001-present).
