WHAT'S HAPPENING
Boise State (8-5) will close out a five-match homestand this weekend when they host No. 55 Denver (6-5) out of the Summit League and LMU (3-8) from the West Coast Conference. Both contests are tentatively scheduled for the Boas Indoor Tennis Center, with the potential of moving outside to the Appleton Tennis Center pending the weather, check our website schedule the day of each match for location.

The Broncos, who entered the weekend ranked No. 66 in the latest ITA Top-75 rankings, will open the weekend by hosting No. 55 Denver at 5 p.m. (Mountain) on Friday. The Blue and Orange own a 5-2 overall record against the Pioneers since 2004, the first meeting. However, Denver has won the last two encounters in 2017 and 2018.

The homestand will conclude Sunday against LMU with first serves at 11 a.m. This will be the third meeting all-time in the series with Boise State winning the two previous encounters in 2004 and 2007.

COVID PROTOCOLS LIFTED
Boise State has lifted its COVID protocols for the rest of the season for both the Boas Indoor Tennis Center and Appleton Tennis Center removing the limits on capacity and mask mandate. However, fans are still encouraged to wear masks.

Admission to Boise State tennis matches is free of charge.

LAST TIME OUT
Boise State opened the five-match homestand last weekend with three consecutive 4-3 wins over Montana State, Idaho State and Pacific, respectively. The Broncos were led by this week's Mountain West Conference Player of the Week in senior Simon Arca Costas who went a combined 4-1, 2-1 at No. 2 singles and 2-0 at No. 1 doubles; as well as, the reigning MW Freshman of the Week Pedro Liborio who went 2-1 at No. 1 singles with two match-clinching victories.

IN THE RANKINGS
Boise State entered the ITA's top-75 this week at No. 66. It is the first time that the Broncos have been in the top-75 since the final rankings of 2015 when they were No. 59.

LEADING THE BRONCOS
Arca Costas currently leads Boise State with a team-high 12 singles victories (12-8) this season. The senior also leads in career singles victories with 65, tied for 22nd all-time in school history.

Jan Lucca Marquardt comes in with the second-most singles victories this season at 10-9.

In team duals, the Broncos are led by their No. 1 tandem of Arca Costas and Caden Moortgat who are 5-4 overall, 3-4 on court one, and 2-0 on court two.

IMPACT FRESHMEN
Boise State added two freshmen at semester break in Pedro Liborio (Caldas Da Rainha, Portugal) and James Van Herzeele (Phuket, Thailand), both have impacted the team's success to date. Liborio is the four-time MW Freshman of the Week going 6-6 at No. 1 singles, while Van Herzeele had gone 7-4 in singles, splitting time between the No. 4 and 5 positions.
